Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at Drexel University, and Director of the Geosynthetics Research Institute in Philadelphia, is widely recognized as a world leader in the area of geosynthetics research and application.

He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and an Honorary Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
